Discover how Griffith Excavating & Trucking efficiently tackles the challenge of rock removal which was Phase 1 of this construction project. This was the initial challenge for this driveway project. Using our state-of-the-art construction equipment, we broke up all underlying bedrock allowing us to carve out a smooth foundation for the drive. Our rock removal process was executed with precision and expertise, ensuring a smooth foundation for the next construction phase... Excavation & Grading! This is our specialty. We meticulously dug the perfect trench for this gravel driveway ensuring a slight slope during the grading process. This ensures proper water drainage upon completion extending the life of the driveaway. This avoids damages and aesthetic issues that can occur when pooling water is not able to drain away from the property correctly. Our team of experts created the perfect grade for this driveway, and with our perfect excavation and grading job completed, we were ready to lean into Phase 3 of this project... Dump Truck Haul-Away Services.
After Griffith Excavating & Trucking efficiently and thoroughly managed the challenge of rock removal, excavation, and grading, it was time for the elegant excavator and dump truck dance. Excess dirt and stones were efficiently loaded into our Kenworth T800 Dump Truck to be hauled away from the job site. Due to our expertise with commercial-grade equipment, we were able to achieve this all within a single load which moved us quickly to the next phases of this project.
The final step in this project was to layer the correct aggregate in the right order to ensure this driveway lasts for years to come. First, we used larger stones from the rock removal process to create a solid 6" stone bed foundation that also helped with water drainage. There was an abundance of larger stones produced from the first 3 phases of this project so we were able to use those for this stone bed installation. This cut down on raw material costs and set the perfect foundation for the gravel spreading phase which was next. We used our tailgate spreading expertise to layer on another layer of 6" gravel aggregate as the top layer of this gravel driveway. Finally, our team of excavation experts used a smooth drum roller (pictured above) to ensure the aggregate was compact and easy for any vehicle to drive over. This made for a smooth drive equivalent to most roads or parking lots.
100% satisfaction guaranteed
As always, when the project was complete, we went directly to the client to get feedback. We made fine adjustments based on those communications to ensure the client was 100% satisfied with the end results. Customer satisfaction is our top priority, and it's the common theme in all that we do. The results... this driveway has lasted 3+ years and counting. It has not washed out, dug up, or rutted out after continuous daily use as a primary driveway for this particular residence. We expect this drive to last 5-10 years before maintenance is needed, at which time we will return for a quick dump truck tailgate gravel spread. The costs for that are nominal and it can be done in a matter of minutes. If you'd like to receive results like this, call us today at (276) 623-3498 to start the conversation. We're excited to show you the difference a professional construction team can make!
